There are two versions of ScriptSmith available for download, one includes the Visual Basic 6 runtimes, and one does not. If you do not already have the VB6 runtimes installed, then download the Full Install version. If you do, then you only need download the No Runtimes install version, which is smaller. Both versions include the JavaScript template. Other templates can be downloaded from this page, in the Extra Templates section. From version 1.05 upwards ScriptSmith also supports context sensitive help. To download help for a script, see the Script References section.

RichTx32 OCX (SP3). If you run Win2000 then download this, unzip it to your ScriptSmith folder and run Register.bat to fix the Invalid Procedure Call (5) error that occurs.

Once you have downloaded the zip file, extract the installer, and run it. It will self-extract the installation files, and run the application setup.

You may also wish to download the FileInfo Editor (6 Kb) to edit the information held in the FileInfo.ini file. It must be run from the ScriptSmith program folder. This utility is provided unsupported, and for your convenience only.

ScriptSmith is shareware. Registration is $15, for more information see the Registration page.

Extra Templates

These will be made available for download as they are sent to me. If you have made a template that you wish to have published here, simply send me the template, your name, email address, and website, and I will put it on the list.

All templates are zipped, and should be extracted to the ScriptSmith program folder. Click on the name of the template to download it.

Script References

These will be made available for download as they are sent to me. If you have made a reference that you wish to have published here, simply send me the reference (should be a zipped file including the .hdf file, and either the reference iteself, or preferably a link as to where to download it.), your name, email address, and website, and I will put it on the list. Note that you need version 1.05 or later to use reference files.

All references are zipped, and should be extracted to the ScriptSmith program folder. Click on the name of the reference to download it.
